On Friday, the organization "Amnesty International" (AI) and the Greenpeace have launched an online campaign in support of Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko, who is serving his sentence in a penal colony and who was recognized by the human rights defenders as political prisoner. The organizations call on users of social networks to join the support action.
Until October 17, the initiators of the support action offered to choose a photo of a corner of the nature of one's pictures on "Facebook", "VKontakte" or Instagram, note it with hashtag #FreeVitishko and add in comment a message of solidarity to the ecologist. Those photos and messages will be printed and sent by mail to the penal colony. This has been announced by the message of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", which had put Evgeny Vitishko on the list of political prisoners.
"If you agree that the protection of nature is not a crime, support Evgeny by turning your photo into a postcard of solidarity! Your photos can do more than collect 'likes'!" declare the initiators of the support action. They ask all the participants of the support action to use only their own photos and write comments in Russian, the AI's website reports.
