"EcoWatch" appeals against the decision to liquidate it

On November 24, the Inter-Regional Ecological NGO "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) appealed against the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Adygea to dissolve the NGO. Its activists learned about the court session after it was over; and this fact alone is enough to cancel the court judgment, activists of the "EcoWatch" believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 21 the official web portal of the executive bodies of the state power of Adygea reported that the SC of Adygea decided to liquidate the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus".

According to Dmitry Shevchenko, an activist of the NGO, on November 24, the representative of the "EcoWatch" filed an appeal to the SC of Adygea, which will be also directed to the SC of Russia. "Besides, he applied to the taxation authorities and the Ministry of Justice stating that the court ruling had been appealed against, that is, it is not yet in force. The appeal was preparing by our lawyer with the help of his colleagues from Saint Petersburg. In the first place, they pointed out that the court session was held without our presence. We knew nothing about the session; we didn't receive a copy of the claim; and we were not able to prepare a response to it. The documents of the court assert that a telegram was sent to the address of the "EcoWatch"; and some court clerk telephoned to us, but we received no messages," said Shevchenko.
