The gathering of Muslims was held today from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the yard of the Grand Mosque and attracted several hundred people, Aslan Gedgafov, the Imam of the Grand Mosque of Nalchik, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"The participants of the gathering condemned the attack on the Imam and called for a speedy investigation into the incident. Anzor Shkhanukov has a deep knowledge of religion; he studied in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh. He has great authority among believers; at the Islamic Institute, he teaches the basics of Islam and other disciplines," said Gedgafov, adding that he knows nothing about the investigation of the incident.
