Authorities of Karachay-Cherkessia ignore the problems of dwelling settlements of the Khabez and Adyge-Khabl Districts, densely populated by Circassians, said the delegates of the reporting-election congress of the "Adyge-Khase-Circassian Parliament" on June 27.
In the context of the problems voiced out at the congress, its participants decided to convene an extraordinary congress of the Circassian people, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Renat Magomedov, the head of the Khabez District, said that no targeted programmes are implemented in his district. According to his story, residents of the district feel discrimination from the republic's authorities.
In the Adyge-Khabl District, out of 1176 children on the waiting list only 527 children go to preschool facilities, said Khadji-Murat Utegushev, a deputy head of the district. Besides, as he said, district has problems with water supply.
According to Mukhamed Cherkesov, the chairman of the movement, a deficit of jobs in the areas of Circassians' compact residence is forcing them to seek employment elsewhere.
Ali Aslanov, the chairman of the Association "Business Cherkessia", has noted that subsidies and grants "are distributed among the people close to the authorities, that is, under the national-clannish principle." He also said about pressure on Circassian businessmen by local authorities.
The problems of Circassian youth were voiced by Timur Zhuzhuev, the leader of the youth organization "Adyge-Khase" of Karachai-Cherkessia. "Our young people have to leave the republic because of high level of unemployment, social and economic crisis, and lack of opportunities for self-realization," he said.
