Karachaevsk city

12 US citizens were teaching English at the children's camp in Teberda, although they arrived in Russia on tourist visas, said the republic's department of the FSB.

According to the department, the Americans arrived in Russia on tourist visas at the invitation of the Evangelical Christian Missionary Union of Karachaevsk.

"However, it was not only a tourist trip – at the children's camp organized by supporters of the religious organization in the city of Teberda, foreigners were engaged in teaching English," the "Interfax" quotes the spokesman of the FSB Department for the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR).

The FSB report also notes that the US citizen who taught English were fined "for exercising labour activity without a due permit."

In total, since the start of the year, 67 foreigners have been fined in the KChR on the same grounds to the total sum of over 130,000 roubles, the TASS reports with reference to the regional branch of the Federal Migration Service (FMS).
