Kabardino-Balkaria: Terek resident complains about police inaction

No criminal proceedings were initiated about the fact of beating of former policeman Artyom Khatukhov in the city of Terek, and no measures were taken against a suspect. This was reported by the victim. Artyom Khatukhov applied to the prosecutor's office, in which he demanded to deal with the inaction of law enforcement officers.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5, 53-year-old Artyom Khatukhov was taken to hospital with brain concussion. The attacker was identified however, the police let him go. According to Artyom Khatukhov, staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) tried to dissuade him from filing a complaint about the beating, but he still did it.
According to Artyom Khatukhov, his attacker was not brought to justice, and no case was instituted against him.
The attacker has explained his actions by saying that Artyom Khatukhov allegedly wrote "some words" on the gate of his house. However, the victim does not believe it.
Let us remind you that Artyom Khatukhov admits that the attack may be related to his activities concerning payment of compensation for service on the border of the counterterrorist (CTO) zone. In 2009, he and 83 former employees of the Terek OVD (Interior Division) filed a lawsuit against the Kabardino-Balkarian MIA on payment of compensation for the service on the border with the CTO zone during the two Chechen campaigns. The court in Nalchik dismissed their lawsuit.
