Resident of Shali disappears in Chechnya Republic (Caucasus)


In Chechnya, the police search for a Shali resident, who disappeared under unclear circumstances about two weeks ago. Till present, the search for the young man has not yet succeeded. The police claim that the search for the disappeared man is underway.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by relatives of the disappeared man that Adam Akhmadov, a 25-year-old resident of the town of Shali, disappeared under unclear circumstances on October 22. The young man left the house and never returned. His mobile phone is switched off.
An official from the Chechen law enforcement bodies has said that the "appropriate measures were taken" after the relatives of the disappeared man had filed a complaint about his disappearance. According to the Chechen law enforcer, the cases involving disappearance of young people often need careful checking.
"It often happens that relatives file complaints about disappearances of persons who joined militants or went to Syria," the police officer has explained.
Meanwhile, he has also noted that they "have no negative information" with regard to the disappeared resident of the town of Shali.
