Kadyrov's original appeal against ban of book with Koran quotations received by Court

The original appeal compiled by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, with his original signature, has been received by the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court. Further, the appeal is to be sent to the Sakhalin Regional Court.

On August 19, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court recognized as an extremist material of the book "Prayer (dua) to Allah: its meaning and place in Islam", which consisted of the translation of the Koran verses and sayings attributed to the Prophet Muhammad. The copy of the judgment was disseminated on the Internet on September 8.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 9, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the preparation of an appeal against the ban of the book with quotations from the Koran. On the same day, Kadyrov's lawyers sent an appeal to the court. The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court received it by e-mail and requested the original appeal with original signature of Ramzan Kadyrov.

Judge Natalya Perchenko, who recognized as extremist the book "Prayer (dua) to Allah: its meaning and place in Islam", received the original appeal.

"We have received the original appeal of Ramzan Kadyrov. At present, it is examined by Judge Natalya Perchenko, and it will be attached to the case," said an official from the secretariat of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court as quoted today, on September 16, by the RIA "Novosti".
