In Dagestan, 300 truckers start protests

In the Karabudakhkent and Kayakent Districts of Dagestan, two protest actions were organized by truckers. About 300 truckers demand to cancel tolls on federal highways.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that truckers are holding protest actions across the country, including in the southern regions of Russia. The truckers demand to cancel the system of "Platon", which was introduced on November 15 to collect tolls from trucks on the roads of federal significance. The authorities explain the need for collection of tolls by stating that trucks damage roads. In Dagestan, the protest actions are being held starting from October 14.
The message reporting that today, in Dagestan, truckers have again protested against the introduction of the "Platon", was received by the SMS-service to the "Caucasian Knot".
In the vicinity of the village of Achi-su of the Karabudakhkent District, about 150 trucks are gathered, and the same number of trucks stays along the federal highway "Kavkaz" in the Kayakent District.
