Tariq Topçu, a student of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU), a citizen of Turkey and Germany of Circassian origin, has complained that his permission to temporarily reside in Russia had been annulled.
Tariq Topçu notes that he explores the Circassian issues and is engaged in journalistic activities. "It is possible that could only be the cause, since I cannot explain other reasons," said Tariq Topçu.
"The decision of the police was a complete surprise for me, since I always distanced myself from violence. I have always been far from separatism and extremism," emphasized Tariq Topçu.
According to him, he challenged the decision in court.
The activist explained that in December 2016, he sent documents to be enlisted to the Philological Faculty of the KBSU.
"I received an invitation, and in May 2017, I arrived with a student visa. I planned to stay at the university to teach German," Tariq Topçu wrote on Facebook.
