NAC reports detention of six militants from Karachaevo-Circassia

According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the detainees had been preparing terror acts. Power agents have also reported liquidation of a laboratory for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) on December 24 and was in force from the midday to 4:00 p.m. The CTO regime covered a number of settlements of the Adyge-Khabl and Prikubansky Districts and the northern part of Cherkessk, the capital of the republic. Power agents reported neutralization of three suspected militants in an abandoned summer cottage settlement.
The NAC has also reported that on December 24 five suspects were detained in Cherkessk. Another one was stopped by power agents while trying to escape in Kabardino-Balkaria.
"As a result of targeted checks, a large amount of ammunition, grenades, grenade launcher shots, TNT blocks and fuses to them were found in the bandits' house," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC's statement.
In the laboratory that was later liquidated, power agents found a ready to use IED with the power of 4 kilograms of TNT (trotyl) equivalent. The bomb was taken out of the city and blown up by FSB experts, the NAC has noted.
