Petition against extrajudicial executions in Northern Caucasus signed by 887 persons

A petition that urges Russian authorities and State Duma MPs and Senators of the Federation Council from the KBR "to stop illegal killings and persecutions" of Caucasian residents during counterterrorist operations (CTOs) has collected 887 signatures. The authors of the petition call "to return Northern Caucasus into the legal field."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on August 3, Nalchik was put under the CTO regime. A group of armed people was blocked in a nine-storey building in Musov Street. They refused to surrender and were killed. According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), six people were killed in total. At night on July 23, another CTO was held in Nalchik, in the course of which six persons were killed.
The petition entitled "Stop extrajudicial executions!" was posted on the website Change.org by Rimma Gukova, a resident of Nalchik, and by 1:00 p.m. on August 19 it was signed by 887 persons out of required 1000 (the authenticity of signatures was not checked, – addition of the "Caucasian Knot" made at 7:58 p.m. on August 19, 2015).
"The reason for posting the petition was the indignation of residents of the KBR, who are sick and tired of permanent introductions of CTO regime in their territory," says the text.
The document notes that residents of local dwelling settlements suffer from CTOs; and "kidnappings of young people happen."
