Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has been awarded with the "Al-Izzat-Honor, Glory and Dignity" Order.
Russia's Chief Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin presented the Order to the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office at the 8th International Scientific-Practical Conference on the Islamic ideals and values in the context of education of the 21st century in Ufa, Russia.
Sheikhulislam was honored for his contributions to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as supporting international and interreligious dialogue.
Pashazade, Sheikh ul-Islam and Grand Mufti of the Caucasus which includes his native Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Georgia, and Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, Chechnya, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Adygea in the Russian Federation. He is also the current chairman of the Religious Council of the Caucasus.
He is also the member of the Management Board of World Islamic Congress, the Management Board of Eurasia Islamic Council and a number of other international organizations. He was elected co-chair of CIS Interreligious Council in 2004.
He was included in a 500 Most Influential Muslims of World book in 2009.
