In the morning, policemen were attacked 5 km from the village of Uchkeken of the Malokarachay District. According to law enforcers, the policemen tried to stop a car and were shelled from it.
In the course of the shootout, an explosion occurred inside the car, and it caught fire. One of the car passengers died. However, there is still no information concerning the number of people inside the car, the "TASS" reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Karachay-Cherkessia.
According to the MIA's preliminary information, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder or a gas unit inside the car.
None of law enforcers suffered in the incident, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.
