On November 23-29, four persons killed in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus


During the week from November 23 to November 29, 2015, four people killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
All the casualties are alleged members of the armed underground, one in Karachay-Cherkessia and three in Dagestan.
Attacks on power agents
In the morning on November 27, 5 km off the village of Uchkeken, Malokarachay District of Karachay-Cherkessia, policemen tried to stop a car, but faced fire from inside thereof. In the course of a shooting, the car blew up, caught fire, and its driver died. According to investigators, explosive device went off in the car trunk. No one was hurt among law enforcers.
Special and counterterrorist operations
On November 23, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the territory of the Tabasaran District of Dagestan. Power agents were searching for militants' and on November 26, they completed their actins in the district. The CTO regime was abolished on November 28; however, no results of the CTO were reported.
On November 24, the CTO regime was introduced in the territory of the Karabudakhkent and Buynaksk Districts of Dagestan. The activities intended to find members illegal armed formations (IAF) are underway there.
On November 29, the CTO regime was introduced in certain areas of the Suleiman-Stalsky and Magaramkent Districts within dwelling settlements of Ashaga-Stahl, Ispik, Kasumkent and Tselyagyun. Power forces were screening a forest and came upon a group of three militants. In the course of the shootout the militants were killed and later identified as Makhmud Makhmudov, born in 1979, the leader of the "Tabasaran" grouping; Robert Melikov, born in 1985, the head of the "Suleiman-Stalsky" grouping; and Gasan Mamedyarov, born in 1989, a member of the "Suleiman-Stalsky" grouping.
Detentions
On November 26, the Chief Department (ChD) for North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported the detention in Khasavyurt of a 35-year-old man suspected of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) in the territory of the Kizlyar District. Besides, ammunition was confiscated from three residents of Dagestan.
On November 27, in Derbent, officers of the above ChD for the NCFD of the Russian MIA conducted a search of the premises of the madrasa belonging to the nongovernmental religious foundation "Suleimandji". The officers found DVD-disks with videos about participation and calls for war voiced out by members of an international terrorist organization ISIL and the "Imarat Kavkaz" (both are banned in Russia). After the search, policemen detained the director of the madrasa.
