Head of the Republic of Adygeya Aslan Thakushinov said in the conference held in the capital Maykop that in 2016 head of Adygeya will be elected directly by the voters in the Republic.
Thakoshinov noted that positive results in the development of the republic has not thanks to one person, but thanks to the members of the government of Adygeya and there are several people in the government who can lead the Republic.
Aslan Thakushinov was elected president of the Republic of Adygeya in 2006. In 2011 he was elected to the post for the second time.
According to analysts, the strongest candidate to win in the next election for the presidency of the Republic is the current Prime Minister of Adygeya Murat Kumpilov.
In the past, according to the election law heads of republics and provinces in the Russian federation elected by their parliaments. Two years ago the law has been changed and today heads will be elected directly by the residents of the regions.
