Dagestan in the lead by number of victims of conflict in Northern Caucasus in six year

In the period from 2010 to 2015, a total of 6074 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; more than half of them – in Dagestan. The runner-up by the count of killed and wounded persons is Chechnya; the third place is occupied by Ingushetia.
The statistics of victims of the conflict in Northern Caucasus is available on the website of the "Caucasian Knot" in the form of infographics, where the casualties and victims are presented by categories. An interactive circular chart presents the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot" for the past six years, based on its own data and information from other open sources.
The rating figures are presented separately for each region. By clicking the mouse on the name of the region, you will see the split of victims by casualties and wounded persons; by clicking on the number, you will see a split by the parties in conflict: civilians, power agents and militants.
As you can see, the largest number of victims was in Dagestan. Here, the total number of killed and wounded persons during this period is 3291 people. Chechnya takes the second place with its 873 victims; and Ingushetia is in the third place with 753 victims of the conflict.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the key trends of the conflict in Northern Caucasus in 2015 were the decrease in the number of armed incidents (by 39%), terror acts (by 33%) and a marked increase in the share of killed militants in the total number of casualties (83% against 73% in 2014).
The overall decrease in the number of victims is marked at the background of the escalating conflict in Syria and the outflow of a part of radically-minded youth there.
